Being ‘Why Not?” Women?

Part of our legacy as women in the Vineyard, from our very first days as a movement, was that women were running hard with the fact that the truth and mercy of Jesus is meant to be both taught and enacted. When John Wimber talked about “doin’ the stuff”, he was especially keen that we be doing these things among men, women and children who frequently experience everything but God’s mercy and his truth.

These next two months, we are going to be featuring articles by and for Vineyard women about how they are walking that out in their own churches. Some of these churches will be brand new plants, and others will be at all different sizes and years of experience. I hope that some of this will stir up vision and intercession in you. Dare to step out on the water if Jesus is calling you! 

Please continue to check out the Women’s Leadership Initiative, a task force working on developing resources and support for women leading at all levels in our region (Midwest). One of the nice things about this site is that it’s interactive – you can join in on the discussions going on all over its different corners. It’s just one example of the creativity that’s going on across the Vineyard among the women.
